There is no good reason that we should not develop and change until the last day we live.
Karen Horney
I am a highly experienced psychotherapist and psychoanalyst with 20 years of clinical experience ranging from inpatient hospital treatment to outpatient clinical practice. I am dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence based treatment in a caring and compassionate way to all of my clients.
In my private practice – both virtually and in person in Manhattan – I have had the pleasure of helping people both professionally and personally work through conflicts that come up, usually in times of stress. My primary focus is relationship issues — dating, partnership challenges, breakups, and the recurring patterns that surface in our closest connections — alongside anxiety, depression, trauma, divorce, eating disorders, mood disorders and family issues. Life experiences and transitions such as break ups, moves, job changes, death, immigration issues or changes in culture all bring out symptoms.
I also have a particular focus working with South Asian clients, offering a space that understands the cultural context around family expectations, identity, intergenerational dynamics, and the unique pressures of navigating relationships within and across cultures.
I hold a masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work and an undergraduate degree from Barnard College of Columbia University. I completed my Psychodynamic psychotherapy training at the American Institute for Psychoanalysis in New York where I am also a candidate at the Psychoanalytic Program. I treat people psychodynamically as well as Psychoanalytically.
